QUEENS, N.Y. – Rory Carey said one of his strengths is hit ability to easily adjust to different settings on the lacrosse field.

“I can play well within a system,” said the 2016 attackman from Valley Stream North (N.Y.) after Sunday night’s Red Storm Lax Showcase Clinic at St. John’s University.. “Coach asked us to play a 2-3-1 and everyone understood it and played good with each other.”

What went well for you today? “Definitely I was hustling out there. Any loose ball, I was first to it; I was always on it.”

What type of college are you looking for and what do you have to offer a college program?
“A school with a balance of strong academics and athletics. I am definitely just working hard everyday and (trying to) be the best I can be.”

How was the competition and what did you do to adjust to the level? “It’s good, it’s fun coming out here and working with other people trying to accomplish the same goal. I just had to play hard.”

What went well for you today? “I think my shooting was good, as well as my cutting.”

What type of college are you looking for and what do you have to offer a college program?
“I’m looking for a small, D1 school. I feel I could offer speed and good offense and defense, I also faceoff a little bit.”

What did you learn about your game that will help you moving forward?
“You always have to keep your feet moving and pass the ball. Don’t stand still and watch.”

How was the competition and what did you do to adjust to the level? “It was pretty good. I thought I had to play a little better.”

What went well for you today? “Probably my first goal actually. It was a nice hard shot from about 12 yards out.”

What type of college are you looking for and what do you have to offer a college program? “DIII, definitely DIII. I’m a big fan of DIII lacrosse. I think I can offer a lot of energy, I’m a really energetic guy.”

What did you learn about your game that will help you moving forward? “I learned that I have to improve everyday; a lot of practice.”

How was the competition and what did you do to adjust to the level? “The competition was really good, I saw a lot of good guys. I have to work on my speed, strength and feel for my stick.”

What type of college are you looking for and what do you have to offer a college program? “DI, I’m looking at Siena. I think I can offer a lot of energy, hard work and dedication.”

What did you learn about your game that will help you moving forward? “I have to work hard on and off the field.”

How was the competition and what did you do to adjust to the level? “It was pretty good, a lot of good kids. I had to work hard.”
