Christian Feliziani won 18 of 22 face-offs and Jake Martellucci scored four goals as host Episcopal Academy defeated Malvern Prep, 11-8, today in an Inter-Ac League boys’ lacrosse game.Boys high school

The Churchmen – No. 16th in the Epoch Lacrosse North America Rankings – improved to 3-1 in the league and 8-3 overall while Malvern (6-6 overall) fell out of a first-place tie with Haverford School at 3-1.

Malvern took a 3-1 first-period lead, but EA pulled even by halftime and took a 7-5 lead before Jack Traynor and Drew Schantz tied it, 7-7, with 10 minutes to play.

The Churchmen, though, took control as Martellucci and Curtis Zappala (two goals, one assist) sparked a 3-0 run with goals just 1:26 apart.

Chris Friedman and Connor Ringwalt each added two goals and an assist for EA and Colin Reder posted 12 saves.

Adam Goldner led the Friars with three goals and two assists and Schantz scored twice.
