Tower Hill (DE) 2015 attackman Andrew Pettit has been named the Heritage Lacrosse Male Player of the Week.
On April 1st Pettit set the school record with 243 career points by collecting five goals and six assists in a 14-6 win over Sanford School. Pettit also had four goals and two assists in Saturday’s 14-13 upset of previously-undefeated Archmere Academy.
Pettit, an All-American last year, is signed with Lehigh and played his club lacrosse with the Duke’s L.C. he now has 163 goals and 98 assists for 261 points.
Why was the Sanford game such a big win for your team?
Pettit: “The Sanford game was a big win for us because it was a conference game. Winning the conference outright would ensure us a spot in the playoffs so we have to win every conference game we can.”
What has helped you achieve so much in your career?
Pettit: “I think that the number one thing that helps me is having good teammates. Without having other teammates that can be a threat and put the ball in the back of the net I would not be able to accomplish anything.”
What is your team’s outlook for the 2015 season?
Andrew Pettit
Pettit: “We feel confident in going far in the state tournament and possibly even win a state championship if we put everything together.”
What are your personal goals for the 2015 season?
Pettit: “My personal goals this season include, above all, winning a state championship. I also would like to become the first two time All American in Tower Hill history.’
