Jules Heningburg had three goals and an assist and Brendan Barrett added two goals and an assist as visiting Seton Hall Prep stunned previously-undefeated Delbarton, 10-8, today in a New Jersey Non-Public A boys’ semifinal.
Delbarton, ranked No. 2 by TopLaxRecruits.com, closes an amazing season at 17-1. The Green Wave scored wins this year over Long Island powers Chaminade and St. Anthony’s as well as Fairfield Prep (CT) and several top New Jersey teams.
One of Delbarton’s wins was over Seton Hall Prep, by an 8-7 score on April 11.
Seton Hall Prep (11-8) has won eight straight games and will play Don Bosco Prep in the title game Wednesday.
Dillon Confalone, Kevin Lewis and Grant Van Fossan each had two goals and two assists for Delbarton.
Don Bosco Prep 9, Bergan Catholic 8, OT
Marc Buermann scored in overtime to lift the Ironmen (16-2) into the Non-Pubic A finals. Don Bosco Prep overcame a three-goal second-half deficit.
Brady Wulster had three goals for the Ironmen and Brendan Mackie led Bergan Catholic (12-5) with three goals.
Shawnee 4, Moorestown 3
Jacob Dean scored with 3:48 left in overtime and Reece Tursi made an amazing 23 saves as Shawnee stunned Moorestown, 4-3, to claim the South Jersey Group III championship.
The Renegades (20-4) have won nine straight games and two consecutive overtime games.
