Oyster Bay (N.Y.) 2017 midfielder Ashley Duggan has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Elon University.

Service Projects: Club 4:12 Church Group: Decorates pumpkins and makes goodie bags for children in LIJ Hopital; Christmas Caroling for the Seniors at Oyster Bay Senior Center. Student Council and Interact Club: Collect and donate canned goods and non-perishable food items for families in need for Thanksgiving.
What will you major in? I am not sure what exactly I would like to major in at Elon University. I am very interested in science and I would like to become a pediatrician as of now, but I may change my mind and find another subject I am passionate about.
Why I chose Elon University? “I loved every aspect of the university. The campus was beautiful, the coaches were energetic and motivational and the team seemed like they had fun together while improving their skills.”
Outlook for 2016 season: “I am excited for our upcoming lacrosse season. I am also a little bit nervous because we lost some valuable seniors, but I believe we have players who can fill their spots and help us to achieve our goal which is winning the County Championship.”
Thank You: “I would like to thank Coach Rizzuto, Oyster Bay H.S. Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach, for always believing in me and challenging me to be the best player I could be. I would also like to thank Coach Dave Kotowski, Team Elevate Coach, for always reminding me to play hard but have fun doing it. He also always told us that grades in school are very important and that school should be a top priority. Lastly, he told us that it is up to us, and if we want something, go and get it. If you practice hard, it will show in the game you play. It’s up to you. Special thanks to my Mom and Dad who brought me to practices and tournaments each weekend of the fall and summer, came to all my games and cheered me on throughout it all. I thank you for all your support and praise that has helped me to achieve my goal of playing Division I Lacrosse in College.”
