The 8th Annual Checking For Cancer Invitational, featuring some of the top-ranked teams in the country, will be held April 9 at three sites in suburban Philadelphia.
This charity tournament benefits programs targeted to community support, research, education and awareness of prostate, colorectal and testicular cancers.
The Haverford School, The Shipley School and Agnes Irwin Schools will serve as hosts.
At The Haverford School, the host Fords – who went 26-0 last year and finished as the No. 1 team in the nation in every national poll – will play Gonzaga College (D.C.) at a time to be determimed. Haverford is ranked No. 2 in the C2C Preseason North America Rankings while Gonzaga is No. 4. Also, No. 17 Bridgewater-Raritan, the defending New Jersey Tournament of Champions winner, will play Long Island power Garden City.
At Agnes Irwin, the host Owls (23-1 last year), ranked No. 4 in the STEPS Lacrosse Preseason Rankings, will face No. 2 Our Lady of Good Counsel (MD) at 10:30 a.m.
