Bishop Timon-St. Jude (N.Y.) gained some revenge while winning the Monsignor Martin championship on Tuesday.

State scoring record setter Connor Fields (118 goals) had six goals and two assists to lead host Bishop Timon (16-4) to an 18-8 rout over St. Joseph Collegiate in the title game. The win came four weeks after St. Joe’s toppled the Tigers, 13-12, in double overtime to snap their 49-game regular-season league winning streak.

Bishop Timon has won four consecutive league championships and will play St. John the Baptist today for the Catholic State Championship.

J.D. Recor (four goals, two assists),.Adam DiMillo (three goals, one assist) and Bill Coppola (two goals, four assists) also had big days for Bishop Timon and senior goalkeeper Jackson Brown had 15 saves.

Junior Mark Nasca led St. Joe’s (12-7) with three goals.

Loyola Academy wins 2nd straight Illinois state title

Robert Lapp and Brian Callahan scored two goals each and Alex Armstrong made 12 saves as Loyola Academy defeated host New Trier, 9-5, for its second straight Illinois state championship on Saturday.

The Ramblers (19-3) avenged a 6-4 regular-season loss to the Trevians (18-4), who had won seven straight state titles before 2012.
