Teams in state playoff competitions jockeyed for position — highlighted by Manhasset’s defeat of Garden City in the Nassau County, N.Y., Class B championship game — in this week’s Nike/US Lacrosse High School Girls’ Lacrosse National Top 25 poll, released today by US Lacrosse. The poll appears as part of Lacrosse Magazine’s bi-weekly report on high school girls’ lacrosse at laxmagazine.com/hsg25.
The then-No. 6 Indians used their 14-8 win over the then-No. 4 Trojans to leap frog over Garden City for the fifth spot in today’s poll. Unbeaten McDonogh (Md.) finished its season as the unanimous No. 1 after winning its fifth straight Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland championship and extending its winning streak to 91 games.
