Conestoga (PA) junior long stick midfielder Damase Bagbonon has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Loyola University.

Damase Bagbonon ledger:

Damase Bagbonon

High school: Conestoga, PA

Graduation year: 2015

Position: LSM

College choice: Loyola University, Maryland (ConnectLAX college profile)

Club affiliations: Mesa Fresh 2015, Dukes L.C.

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases:
Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip Rising Sophomore Summer Camp 2012, Philly Showcase Fab 40 All Star Game 2012 and 2013, MVP Delaware All Star Game 2013, PIAA 2013 State Championship runner up

What will you major in/study: Considering Biology, Business

Why did you choose school: “Loyola had everything I’d been looking for both academically and athletically in my college search. Coach Charlie Toomey and his staff have built one of the best programs in the country. The players treated me as one of their own and were very friendly. The campus is the ideal distance from home, and I loved the biology and business schools, along with the great athletic facilities. In addition to the outstanding education, it seemed like a place where I would succeed as a student, player, and person.”

Outlook for your high school team: “Every team loses some key seniors from the year before so we want to make sure that we continue to play at the highest level of lacrosse, and make another run at states.”

Thank You: “I don’t have enough words to thank all of the following people who have been instrumental throughout my lacrosse career. First I want to thank my family for their love and support and being there every step of the way during my recruiting process and guiding me through life’s challenges. My brother Bhelly, my first coach, got the stick in my hands at an early age, and taught most of what I know today. I want to thank all my youth coaches who gave a strong foundation to build off of, in particular, John Hildebrand. Thank you to all my club coaches from Mesa Fresh; Coaches Mark Aitken, Brad Ament, and Peter Rohr; my Dukes coaches, Ebe Helm, John and Jason Christmas, Billy McKinney, and Eric Gregg; and to my Conestoga coaches, Brian Samson, Craig Gratton, and Brody Bush, thank you. In addition I’d like to thank the Loyola Coaching Staff for seeing my potential to aid their team. And special thanks to Coach Peter Rohr who has believed in me, continues to push me to reach higher goals and has helped me extremely to become a better player and person. I would not be where I am today without him. An opportunity like this can not be attained without family, friends, and coaches. I am truly grateful and thankful, all of these people were present in my upbringing and they will be present during my success and I want to thank them all one more time.”
