Brindi Griffin scored five goals and Elizabeth George had four as McDonogh School (MD) continued its win streak by defeating host Mt. Hebron (MD), 15-7, Saturday in the finals of the Mt. Hebron Fight For Five Tournament at Cedar Lane Park.
The Eagles (15-0), ranked first in the brine/TopLaxRecruits rankings, set what is believed to be the all-time mark for consecutive games without a loss when they toppled North Harford (MD), 15-8, in the first round.
Loch Raven (MD) had a 104-game unbeaten streak (including 103 straight wins) between 1973 and 1982. McDonogh had won its 104th in a row Thursday to set the consecutive win streak record held by Loch Raven and Mt. Hebron (2007).
With the title game win over No. 15 Mt. Hebron (9-1), McDonogh has 106 straight wins.
The Eagles broke open a 3-3 game vs. Mt. Hebron with a 12-2 run. Kelsey Cummings added three goals and an assist and Gabbe Cadoux had 13 saves.
Chachi Kelehan and Jordan Stevens each had two goals for Mt. Hebron.
