Jim Stagnitta said building the MVP Lacrosse brand over a 25-year period was done brick by brick.

“We started teaching at the camps over 20 years ago and we built one of the first of its kind,” said Stagnitta, the MVP Founder and director since its inception.MVP

“We built a strong brand with a strong reputation and to be candid, over the years, I was a one-man show along with my staff of college coaches.

“These guys were good at what they did and they helped me while I was one of the pioneers of the first one or two exposure events.”

Stagnitta, an assistant coach at Penn, decided to continue the growth of MVP Lacrosse by embarking on a comprehensive partnership with NXTsports, a youth sports leader that runs the country’s top lacrosse youth and recruiting events.

Stagnitta said that running events as a one-man show has become difficult with the competitive nature of the lacrosse world. To him, NXT was the perfect fit and had the “bandwidth” to help him grow MVP.

“Keeping up with the quality of events involves having social media and all the bells and whistles and also having marketing ability prowess,” said Stagnitta.

“They have a full-time staff and I realized that for me and for MVP to be sustainable at a high level, I needed to find a partner that had the ability to build upon and improve the brand.

“I have had really good experience at NXTevents as a college coach on the recruiting scene and as a parent. I thought they did a perfect job. I had a number of people approach me about the possibility of managing and buying MVP. Rather than entertain those types of offers, I felt I would do my homework and reach out to someone that I felt could continue to sustain MVP at the levels and reputation we have established over all these years.”

“I have put an awful lot of time and effort into building (the reputation) and NXT saw the value of the brand. I am not sure they even realized where it was. But I love the way they approach things and the high levels with which they pay attention to details. They leave no stone unturned to make sure players and families are receiving a high-level experience and that college coaches make the most out of their time recruiting their events.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with Jim Stagnitta and MVP. MVP has done incredible things in the lacrosse world, especially with its recruiting events, and to be a part of that is a huge honor for NXT,” NXT President & CEO Andy Hayes said. “We can’t wait to help build on the tradition that Coach Stagnitta has created.”

MVP is also unique in that its recruiting events take place exclusively at elite Division I facilities and offer college dorm lodging options for all participants. MVP’s event formula places elite players at top Division I facilities, providing a real college experience and platform for recruits to showcase their skills.
